On or about Tuesday, October 27th, 2020, around 4:30 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and several cars left one man dead and several people injuries. Law enforcement representatives said the accident happened in the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 near Airport Boulevard in Sacramento, California.
State Troopers said that an as-of-yet unidentified 40-year-old man was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly crashed into the back of stopped or slowed traffic in the southbound lanes. Paramedics rushed the man to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival. EMS transported an unspecified number of people to the hospital for treatment.
Looking at the stretch of road where the accident was reported on Google Maps shows that Interstate 5 is for lanes with a wide, grassy median dividing the directions of traffic. The intersection with Airport Road is located in the far northwest portion of Sacramento.
California Highway Patrol is assisting in the accident investigation.
