On or about Monday, April 11th, 2022, around 1:30 in the morning, an accident with an alleged wrong-way tractor-trailer driver left one person dead and sent several others to the hospital. Troopers from the GSP said the accident was reported along Interstate 85 in Troup County, Georgia.
Officials said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed and several others were injured when a tractor-trailer allegedly hit another 18-wheeler and a passenger vehicle while driving the wrong direction on Interstate 85. Emergency responders pronounced the wrong-way truck driver dead, while several others were treated for injuries.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 85 winds north and south through Troup County.
Police are still investigating the crash.
