On or about Wednesday, April 26th, 2022, around 12:28 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer, a pedestrian, and an unoccupied vehicle left one individual dead. Troopers from the ASP said the accident was reported along Interstate 17 in Yavapai County, Arizona.
Representatives from the Arizona State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified pedestrian was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly struck an unoccupied vehicle on I-17. After the initial collision with the unoccupied vehicle, the car was pushed into a pedestrian who was walking alongside or near the roadway. Emergency responders pronounced the victim dead of their injuries a short time after the incident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from Black Canyon City.
Officials are still looking into the cause of the accident.
