On or about Wednesday, April 21st, 2021, around 1:00 in the morning, a tractor-trailer pileup accident left one individual dead. Troopers from the CHP said the accident was reported on the northbound side of Interstate 5 just outside Westley in Stanislaus County, California.
California Highway Patrol representatives said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when three tractor-trailers collided in a chain-reaction accident. Police said the accident may have started when one of the tractor-trailers allegedly attempted to box in a suspected drunk driver. Paramedics pronounced one victim dead of their injuries a short time after the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 5 runs north and south just west of Westley, which is about 81 miles west of downtown San Francisco.
Police hope to release the findings of their investigation at a later date.
