On or about Wednesday, December 1st, 2021, around 6:45 in the evening, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer left one child dead. Troopers from the GSP said the accident was reported along Interstate 85 near Flowery Branch Road in Gwinnett County, Georgia.
Officials from the Georgia State Patrol said an as-of-yet unidentified child was killed when the vehicle they were in and a tractor-trailer collided under unspecified circumstances while driving down I-85. Emergency responders pronounced the child dead after the accident, but it is not clear if they died at the scene or after being rushed to a nearby hospital. Authorities did not mention if any drivers were injured in the collision.
According to Google Maps, Gwinnett County is on the northeast side of Atlanta.
Police are still investigating the accident.
