On or about Friday, January 15th, 2021, around 11:30 in the morning, an accident between an 18-wheeler and a cyclist left one man dead. Local law enforcement representatives said the accident happened at the intersection of Western and Olive in South Bend, Indiana.
Troopers from the Indiana State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed when they allegedly struck the side of an 18-wheeler while riding their bike. Officials said the cyclist may have failed to yield at the intersection before the accident.
Google Streetview shows the intersection of Western and Olive is controlled by a stoplight. The scene of the accident is on the western side of South Bend.
Police are still investigating the accident.
