On or about Thursday, May 19th, 2022, around 3:00 in the morning, an accident between a train and a pedestrian left one individual dead. Spokespeople from the Travis County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported on a length of track near West Third Street in Austin, Texas.
Officials from the Austin Police Department said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when they were allegedly hit by a train as they were walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the tracks near West Third Street. Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead a short time after they responded to the incident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is situated in downtown Austin.
Police are still investigating the accident.
