Details:
On or about Sunday, March 28th, 2021, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an SUV left one man dead and sent two other people to the hospital. Officials from the CHP said the accident was reported on Weedpatch Highway at or near the intersection with Wilson Road in Bakersfield, California.
Authorities said one as-of-yet unidentified 78-year-old man was killed and two others were injured when a tractor-trailer allegedly struck the SUV they were in as they were attempting a turn. Paramedics pronounced the 78-year-old man dead a short time after the crash, while two other occupants in the SUV were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was unhurt.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Wilson Road and Weedpatch Highway is on the southeast side of Bakersfield.
California Highway Patrol assisted local police at the scene of the accident.
