Details:
On or about Monday, October 25th, 2021, an accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a Hartford woman. Troopers from the CSP said the accident was reported along the eastbound side of Interstate 84 in Newton, Connecticut.
Connecticut State Police said Samantha Figueroa was killed when she was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer while she may have been trying to flag down assistance near her disabled vehicle on eastbound I-84. Paramedics rushed Figueroa to a nearby hospital where she succumbed to her injuries a short time after her arrival. Authorities did not mention any other vehicles in their statement on the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 84 runs east and west just north of Newton, which is about 24 miles west of New Haven.
Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
