On or about Friday, April 16th, 2021, around 2:30 in the morning, an accident involving a suspected drunk driver, a tractor-trailer, and a car left a 21-year-old woman dead. Deputies from the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported on Interstate 20 in Arlington, Texas.
Police said a vehicle driven by Michael Bailey allegedly swerved, causing an 18-wheeler to jackknife across all the lanes of traffic on the interstate. The tractor-trailer subsequently collided with a car driven by 21-year-old Samantha Skaggs. Skaggs was pronounced dead of her injuries at the scene of the accident.
Authorities have since charged Michael Bailey with intoxication manslaughter in connection with the crash.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene to aid in the accident investigation.
