Details:
On or about Sunday, January 10th, 2021, around 9:00 at night, an accident between a pedestrian and an 18-wheeler left one person dead. Authorities said the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 24 in Montgomery County, Tennessee.
Officials from the THP said 38-year-old Samuel Harris was killed when he was allegedly hit by an 18-wheeler when he was walking west in the eastbound lanes of the interstate. Paramedics pronounced Harris dead of his injuries a short time after he was struck.
Investigators believe Harris was let off a Greyhound Bus on the side of the interstate just before the accident occurred. At this time, authorities are unsure as to why Harris exited the bus, or why he was let off.
Tennessee State Police is assisting local law enforcement with the accident investigation.
