Details:
On or about Sunday, November 1st, 2020, around 2:30 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a parked semi claimed the life of a 23-year-old man from Bakersfield, California. Texas DPS said the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 near Adrian in Oldham County, Texas.
Troopers said 23-year-old Sarabjit Singh was killed when the tractor-trailer he was driving allegedly drove out of the eastbound lanes of the interstate when it hit a parked 18-wheeler driven by Mohit Kumar. First responders pronounced Singh dead of his injuries a short time after the collision. Kumar was reportedly unhurt in the accident.
Looking at the scene of the accident on Google Streetview shows Interstate 40 as four lanes with a wide, grassy median dividing the east and westbound lanes. The rest area is located a short distance off the highway. Oldham County is located roughly 63 miles northwest of Amarillo.
Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers assisted in the accident investigation.
