On or about Thursday, January 20th, 2022, around 12:45 in the afternoon, an accident between an SUV and icen from a tractor-trailer left a 41-year-old woman injured. Officials from the PSP said the accident was reported along Interstate 78 just outside Hamburg in Berks County, Pennsylvania.
Investigators said 41-year-old Sherri D. Doty was injured when a chunk of ice allegedly fell from the front of tractor-trailer and flew into oncoming traffic where it struck Doty’s vehicle. Paramedics treated Doty for injuries of an unspecified nature or severity after the accident. The tractor-trailer did not stay at the scene of the incident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from Hamburg, which is roughly 78 miles northwest of downtown Philadelphia.
Police are still investigating the incident.
