Details:
On or about Tuesday, December 1st, 2020, around 9:44 in the morning, an accident between an 18-wheeler and an SUV left one woman dead and a man seriously hurt. State Troopers said the accident happened at the intersection of Highway 24 and Logansport Road in Cass County, Indiana.
Authorities said 44-year-old Shownelle McCoy was killed when the SUV she was in allegedly pulled into the path of a tractor-trailer driven by 55-year-old Harold Clinch. Shownelle McCoy died at the scene, while the driver of the SUV, identified as B. Scott McCoy, was airlifted to a nearby hospital with major injuries.
Police closed the westbound lanes of Highway 24 for several hours in order to tend to the scene of the accident.
Multiple agencies are assisting in the investigation at this time.
