Details:
On or about Tuesday, December 29th, 2020, around 3:59 in the morning, an accident between a snow plow and a tractor-trailer sent two men to the hospital. State Police representatives said the accident happened on the northbound side of Interstate 81 in Cicero, New York.
Police said 25-year-old Stephen Brewster was injured when a tractor-trailer allegedly struck the snowplow he was driving. After the initial collision with the tractor-trailer, the snowplow was pushed off the road and onto the shoulder of the interstate. Paramedics transported Brewster to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
Authorities identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as 55-year-old Rolando Merino-Rios, who was also taken to the hospital with unknown injuries following the incident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 81 is six lanes, with a grassy median dividing north and southbound traffic. The town of Cicero is located just a few miles north of Syracuse.
Police are still investigating the incident.
