Details:
On or about Saturday, February 6th, 2021, around 3:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a dump truck and a pedestrian left a 64-year-old Gaithersburg, Maryland woman dead. Officers from the NYPD said the accident was reported at the intersection of West 45th Street and Seventh Avenue in midtown New York City, New York.
Officers said 64-year-old Tamar Rhode was killed when she was allegedly hit by a dump truck that was making a turn as she was crossing West 45th Street in an eastbound direction. Rhode was rushed to Bellevue Hospital where she died of her injuries a short time after her arrival.
According to Google Maps, the accident happened in Times Square.
New York Police Department officials are currently investigating the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
