On or about Tuesday, February 23rd, 2021, an accident between several cars and tractor-trailers left a 13-year-old girl dead. Troopers from the LSP said the accident happened along the old Mississippi River Bridge in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Investigators said a 13-year-old girl was killed when fifteen vehicles, including several tractor-trailers collided in a chain-reaction accident. Paramedics pronounced the teen girl dead of her injuries a short time after the collision, while several people were transported from the scene in order to be treated for unspecified injuries.
Louisiana State Police closed the lanes of traffic and diverted motorists to Highway 1 in order to tend to the scene of the accident.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene to assist in the accident investigation.
