Details:
On or about Wednesday, April 28th, 2021, around 3:30 in the afternoon, an accident between a box truck and a car left three people dead. Troopers from the CHP said the accident occurred on the northbound side of Highway 99 at Elverta Road in Sacramento, California.
Authorities from the area said three people were killed after a 30 foot box truck allegedly slammed into the back of a car that had stopped following a previous accident. Three people were pronounced dead of their injuries after the collision. Police did not mention any other injuries in their preliminary report on the accident.
Highway 99 runs north and south through the area, while Elverta Road runs east and west, with the intersection of the two on the north side of Sacramento, according to Google Maps.
Police expect to release the findings of their investigation as soon as they become available.
