On or about Tuesday, March 29th, 2022, around 2:45 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an SUV towing a boat trailer left one woman dead and sent two other people to the hospital. Officials from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Highway 287 in Sherman County, Texas.
Texas DPS officials said 46-year-old Tina Hunley was killed, while an as-of-yet unidentified 45-year-old and an 11-year-old were injured when a tractor-trailer allegedly struck the SUV and boat trailer they were towing as they were merging from the shoulder. Paramedics rushed Hunley and the two passengers to the hospital where Hunley succumbed to her injuries a short time after her arrival.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance south of Stratford.
Police are still investigating the accident.
