On or about Tuesday, April 26th, 2022, sometime in the afternoon hours, a serious boat accident sent two individuals to the hospital. Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported in flooded areas near the Katy Freeway in Houston, Texas.
Law enforcement representatives from the area said two as-of-yet unidentified individuals were injured when the Harris County Flood Control District boat they were in allegedly struck a submerged structure or object while performing rescue duties. Emergency responders airlifted one person, while another individuals was taken by ambulance for injuries of an unspecified nature or severity.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from the exchange with Eldridge Parkway on the west side of Houston.
Authorities are still investigating the accident.
