Details:
On or about Tuesday, November 3rd, 2020, around 5:41 in the afternoon, an accident between an Amtrak train and a dump truck sent two people to the hospital. Law enforcement sources said the accident happened at a crossing near the intersection of Cameron Street and Hollier Road in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Troopers said two as-of-yet unidentified individuals were injured when the dump truck they were in was struck by an Amtrak train. Paramedics transported both victims to a nearby hospital with various unspecified injuries.
Examining the railroad crossing on Google Streetview shows a marked crossing, with no crossing arms. The area is situated in the far west portion of Lafayette.
State and local law enforcement are investigating.
