On or about Wednesday, January 26th, 2022, around 7:00 in the morning, an accident between a Cristo Rey Jesuit College Preparatory High School bus and another vehicle sent two students to the hospital. Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported on the Interstate 10 East Freeway near the exchange with Mercury Drive in Houston, Texas.
Officers from the Houston Police Department said two as-of-yet unidentified individuals were injured when an unspecified vehicle allegedly struck the back of a Cristo Rey Jesuit College Preparatory High School bus. Two students on the bus were transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment of unspecified injuries. It is not currently clear if anybody in the other vehicle was injured.
According to Google Maps, the exchange of Interstate 10 East Freeway and Mercury Drive is on the east side of Houston.
Police are still examining the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
