On or about Friday, October 29th, 2021, around 7:30 in the morning, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a Leander ISD school bus sent two individuals to the hospital. Officials from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Farm-to-Market 1431 in Jonestown, Texas.
Deputies from the Travis County Sheriff’s Office said two as-of-yet unidentified individuals were injured when a school bus and a passenger vehicle collided under unspecified circumstances while driving down FM 1431 near the intersection with Main Street. Paramedics airlifted the driver of the car to the hospital with serious injuries, while the driver of the bus was taken to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries.
According to Google Maps, Jonestown is situated about 29 miles northwest of downtown Austin.
Police are still examining the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
