Details:
On or about Wednesday, October 21st, around 7:00 in the morning, a head-on collision between a tractor-trailer and a car sent a woman to the hospital. Local officials said that the accident happened on Highway 45 near State Highway 17 in Citronelle, Alabama.
Police said that a woman was seriously hurt when the car she was driving and an 18-wheeler collided head-on while traveling opposite directions on Highway 45. Paramedics transported the woman by helicopter to a nearby hospital. EMS transported the driver of the 18-wheeler by ambulance for treatment of their injuries.
Officers mentioned a potential DUI charge, but did not mention which driver may be charged.
Inspecting the roadway where the accident took place on Google Streetview shows Highway 45 is two lanes that run north and south, and is heavily wooded on either side.
State and local law enforcement tended to the scene of the accident, which is still being investigated.
