Details:
On or about Saturday, April 17th, 2021, around 5:27 in the morning, an accident between two tractor-trailers sent two men to the hospital. Officials from the TSP said the accident was reported on the southbound side of Interstate 81 in Hamblen County, Tennessee.
Officials said 47-year-old Vano Galakhvaridze and 59-year-old Joseph Hopper were injured when the tractor-trailers they were driving collided under unknown circumstances. Officials indicated the collision was rear-end in nature, but did not say which driver was following and which truck was leading. Paramedics transported Hopper and Galakhvaridze to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries.
Interstate 81 runs north and south through Hamblen County, which is about 48 miles northeast of Knoxville, according to Google Maps.
Police are still investigating the accident.
