Details:
On or about Wednesday, December 22nd, 2021, around 1:00 in the morning, a head-on accident between a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck left two individuals dead and sent two other people to the hospital. Troopers from the CHP said the accident was reported along Interstate 40 just outside Barstow in San Bernardino County, California.
Spokespeople from the California Highway Patrol said two as-of-yet unidentified individuals were killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly lost control and crossed over the median of I-40 where it struck the Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck they were riding in. Emergency responders pronounced the driver and passenger in the pickup truck dead of their injuries a short time after the accident, while the driver and passenger in the tractor-trailer were treated for injuries of an unspecified nature or severity.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 40 winds east and west through the center of Barstow, which is about 114 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles.
