Details:
On or about Sunday, August 22nd, 2021, around 9:30 in the morning, an accident between an SUV and two tractor-trailers left two people dead and sent two others to the hospital. Deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported along the northbound side of Interstate 65 in Louisville, Kentucky.
Authorities said two as-of-yet unidentified people were killed and two people were injured when a Jeep allegedly struck a tractor-trailer on the side of the roadway before spinning into the path of another northbound truck. Four occupants of the Jeep were ejected from the vehicle in the accident, and two died at the scene. Emergency responders transported two others to University Hospital.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 65 runs north and south through Jefferson County, with the scene of the accident a short distance from the Bullitt County line.
Authorities are still investigating the accident.
