Details:
On or about Thursday, March 11th, 2021, an accident between a tractor-trailer and two pickup trucks left two men from Port St. Lucie dead. Authorities from the FHP said the accident was reported in the northbound lanes of Florida’s Turnpike in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Highway Patrol Troopers said a tractor-trailer allegedly lost control and struck the back of a pickup truck that was stopped or slowed in traffic. The trailer of the 18-wheeler was flung into the southbound lanes following the initial collision and struck a southbound pickup truck. Paramedics pronounced both occupants of the southbound pickup truck dead at the scene of the accident.
According to Google Maps, Florida’s Turnpike runs north and south through the center of Palm Beach Gardens, which is about 80 miles north of downtown Miami.
State and local law enforcement are investigating the accident.
