Details:
On or about Thursday, October 15th, 2020, around 6:45 in the evening, an accident between a van and an 18-wheeler killed two people and sent two others to the hospital. The accident took place in the westbound lanes of Interstate 20 in Taliaferro County, Georgia.
Georgia State Patrol Troopers said that two people were killed when the van they were in allegedly slammed into the rear of a tractor-trailer that had slowed or stopped for traffic. Paramedics pronounced the driver of the van, as well as the front seat passenger dead of their injuries. Two other people in the van were taken by EMS to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries.
The location of the accident on Google Maps shows Interstate 20 is four lanes that run east and westbound, with a wide grassy median between them. Taliaferro County is located roughly 50 miles west of Augusta.
