Details:
On or about Friday, November 20th, 2020, around 7:45 in the evening, an accident between an 18 wheeler and nine cars left two people dead and sent three others to the hospital. State Troopers said the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 24 near the exchange with the Anitoch Pike in Nashville, Tennessee.
Officials said two as-of-yet unidentified people were killed and three others were hurt when a 17-year-old driver allegedly swerved into another vehicle, before a tractor-trailer struck the second car. After that initial collision, seven other vehicles collided in a chain-reaction event. Authorities did not clarify the sequence of events outside the initial accident. One vehicle burst into flames after the crash, claiming the lives of both occupants. Three other people were taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
According to Google Streetview, Interstate 24 is eight lanes in the area, with a concrete barrier dividing east and westbound traffic. The interstate is heavily wooded on either side of the pavement. The scene of the accident is located on the southeast side of Nashville.
