On or about Monday, March 20th, 2022, sometime in the afternoon hours, an accident with a tanker truck, a tractor-trailer, and four other vehicles left two people dead. Troopers from the ISP said the accident was reported in the 1300 block of South Kirk Road in Batavia, Illinois.
Representatives from the Illinois State Police said two as-of-yet unidentified individuals were killed when the vehicle they were in, three other passenger vehicles, a tanker truck, and a tractor-trailer collided in a chain-reaction accident. Emergency responders pronounced two individuals dead of their injuries a short time after the collision.
According to Google Maps, Batavia is about 43 miles west of downtown Chicago.
