Details:
On or about Monday, May 9th, 2022, around 4:00 in the afternoon, a major accident between a pickup truck left two individuals dead and sent a truck driver to the hospital. Officials from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Interstate 20 in Abilene, Texas.
Representatives from the Texas Department of Public Safety said 65-year-old William Clarence Dixon Jr. and 57-year-old Lori Dianne Courtney were killed when the pickup truck they were in was allegedly struck head-on by a tractor-trailer that crossed over the center line of I-20. Paramedics pronounced Courtney and Dixon dead of their injuries a short time after the accident. Officials identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as 43-year-old Freddie Brown Jr., who was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries after the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is near mile marker 292.
Police are still trying to determine exactly what happened in the crash.
